I will get our readings posted asap, but this week has been a 'white knuckle' week. Don't be shy, if someone else wants to do initial posts for next day of so, that would help the 'team' and those that are caught up. Else, I'm sure to get this caught up soon.
Life's point: may not have time everyday to read and spend the time that I/we do most every morning reading. Not sure that is too terribly bad?, being 'choked out by the thorns' (parable of the seeds) sometimes - but we/I can still have our 'daily cup' in prayer/meditation to keep our communion with God, allowing him to guide our paths, I'd say.
Keep the faith!

Taking a stab at stepping in for Scott.
OT is really interesting; not just stories but real people. Note the reconciliation between Jacob and Esau, how Jacob expected the worst and Esau was there with open arms. Shouldn't we do the same for our brothers?
Given the existing (hasn't it always been?) conflict in the Middle East between Israel and othere we can now see how the divisions started, even to the naming of the nation thru
Jacob. good stuff.
Hello. Looking forward to some dialogue.

I've often wondered why Esau welcomed Jacob with open arms... I know it was all part of God's plan, but Esau was broken and even wanted to inflict pain on Jacob initially.
You kind of have to feel sorry for Esau a little - I've often heard people say '.. well, it was something Esau did or his attitude that caused him to loose', but that wasn't the case at all. This was part of God's plan even before he was born. Again, I point you to Romans 9. God does what he does… on his terms/conditions. Simply put, because He's God. This took me a long time to get my arms around the Esau story.
