Tomorrows reading: Job 25-27/Matt 12:22-50
More of the same – Eliphaz make his last ‘plea’ to Job. Job wants to meet with God (this has relevance to the end of this book)…
The plot to kill Jesus begins...
Request: someone want to post a mini-lesson on Pharisees, Sadducees, Sanhedrin, and the teachers of the law? It is huge to understand their roles/position bible reading, especially to the reading of Jesus trial.
Important EMAIL I received:
-------------------
Got a note from a dear 'friend' that said she is reading every day and visiting this sight, multiple times a day. She said 'I AM learning and enjoying it' - this is huge!! Love ya, by the way!
Then follows up with:
'Where is everybody? I really enjoy reading everyone's comments. Hope to see them back soon'.
--------------------
Me too (wink/wink) ahah.. I do appreciate all the synergy this team has generated. This has become just great tool to open 'conversational doors' with folks that need to hear and/or you have always wanted to 'reach' - or, just those times where 'it feels right' to talk about God and your not sure where to start. I think we all like talking about salvation, 'God stuff', but are just afraid where to start.
You guys/girls rock!
If time permits, drop notes and thoughts - there are many 'first time readers' that can benefit from our 'every day' comments about our reading. Please, don't be shy to share (like Kajagoogoo's 'Too Shy').

Job
Last call – in ch22 Eliphaz returns w/more of the same – all of your suffering is due to you’re sin/wicked nature. Zophar’s last stand was yesterday, we here no more from these two. Eliphaz does offer some solid ‘nuggets’ in vv21-23 ‘Submit to God and be at peace.. ‘ but, the bases of his advice are just off.
In ch23, Job wants to have a face-to-face with God (vv3-7) – this is at least the 3rd time he’s stated he wants a meeting with God, can’t remember. Before, he was reserved about this meeting, but now seems confident. For some reason, vv13-14 stood out and hasn’t before. God does do what he pleases (Romans 9 will ‘turn you upside-down’ when we get there) and Job recognizes that… ‘shall we accept good from God, and not trouble’ (Job 2:10 SMV)
Job returns talking about the wicked going unpunished – ‘Scott free’ (in today’s vernacular, we’d say looser, cheats, dead-beats, NIV notes says murderer, adulterer, robber). Gotta tell you, I’ve thought that sometimes too. See 23:13-14, yep – God does what he pleases.
Matt 12:1-21
Jesus often does things on the Sabbath which ‘gets under the skin’ of the Pharisees – gathering wheat, healing, etc... Jesus references David eating consecrated bread from the temple going unpunished then states in v6 ‘I tell you that the one greater than the temple is here’. At this, in v14, the Pharisees begin plotting his murder (not sure how this timeline relates to timeline in John11 vv45-55 – just after Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead… great read, btw).
