Tomorrows Reading Job 32-33/Matt 14:-21
Job
Well.. that’s it; this was “Job’s last stand” and outlining his innocence and the injustice based on his character. He has nothing else to say until the last chapter (42).
Matthew
Jesus continues with parables, the mustard seed, yeast, hidden treasures/pearls, and the net.

Yesterday, Job outlined his position w/in the community and how well respected he was. In ch30 he tells how each detest him, mock him, and even spit in his face. He appearance isn’t the only problems Job has, he talks about the pain/suffering he is undergoing and is just ‘wailing’ with agony. In ch31, he continues with ‘his defense’ – like by ‘buddy’, John MacArthur (yeah.. awesome: http://www.gty.org/index.php) says, if you read this ‘one verse at a time’, you would want Job to be your neighbor.
Yesterday we talked about sowing of seeds (not sewing.. hhehe), sorry. Today, more parables. The mustard seed was the smallest seeds used by Palestinian farmers and gardeners – not the smallest seed known today, but was then. A Mustard tree would grow to 10feets tall and had wide-spreading branches. ‘chuchy talk’ often references this parable – why. NIV notes say “the kingdom of heaven will expand to world domination and people from all nations will find rest in it”.
Also, yeast seems to always be associated with ‘evil or unclean’ – referencing a people/place… There are also many references to eating ‘unleavened bread’ (containing no ‘leaven’ – yeast/baking powder; causing fermentation and rise). This also, I think (need help here) signified patience.
I had to re-read 13:24-30; good stuff explained in vv37-43. We do live ‘among the weeds’ - are we sometimes a ‘weed’ – hmmmm (that just pop’d into my brain to stir conversation).
